I learned about the Warm Up America blanket project at a Michaels Craft Store sometime last year. In between interesting projects at the end of 2002, I made 16 7-inch x 9-inch squares to donate to Michaels' Warm Up America event during which all the donated squares are connected to form colorful and warm blankets for those in need. I wanted to help sew blankets together but couldn't find anyone at the Michaels near my house who had information about the day and time. So, I didn't go.
It's now June 2003...6 months later...and I still have the squares. I plan to drop them off in the Warm Up America donation bin at Michaels in the next few days. Maybe there will be some information about the next sew-blankets-together event.
Only 15 of the 16 squares are in the photos since the 16th one was left behind when the photos were taken (it is another mix of navy blue and royal blue).
