Front porch flowers

(1, 2) Front porch without and with new bench and potted flower plants (much more welcoming!). (3, 4) Closeup of New Guinea Impatiens (nonstop flowers in wide range of colors over foliage ranging from green to purple-tinged; more sun-tolerant than other impatiens) and Coleus (foliage plant with large, colorful leaves in varying shapes and sizes). (5, 6, 7) Calla Lily Callafornia Calla (large, funnel-shaped flowers with prominent spathes set among lush, green leaves).

Guess what we did this past weekend? Yup, planted more flowers! This time in containers for the front porch next to the new bench. I got this batch of flowers at Orchard Supply Hardware, not Home Depot, but I need to buy stock in both companies...!

After Bill bought the bench last weekend, I just had to have more flowers. So, here's the result. I can sit on the front porch in the evening after work or on the weekend, reading a book, listening to the birds chirping (in between cars "racing" down the street), and look at the roses and flowers in our front yard. Cool!

I've bought flowering plants only from Home Depot. I've looked at some at OSH. Have you found the quality of plants to be better at one store over the other?

There's more variety at Home Depot - larger selection, more of each type of plant. Orchard is convenient in that it is quicker to get out of if it has what you're looking for.
