Man Riding Kawasaki Jet Ski cross-stitch design

Date: December 1987

This Kawasaki Jet Ski cross-stitch design was a Christmas present for Bill in 1987. We were still in the dating stage when I began the project and had moved in together around the time I finished it. All work was done in secret over a period of months: before work, on the BART train going to work and returning home, in the evenings when we didn't see each other.

The pattern was created using a clear plastic grid overlay over a photograph in a Kawasaki 650 Jet Ski brochure. The overlay converted the photograph into a cross-stitch chart. I hadn't heard of this technique before, but it seems to be common now.

About Cheryl

Enjoys crocheting, gardening, cats, NASCAR (especially Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch!), reading, photography, snorkeling in Kailua-Kona with sea turtles, Sizzler's Mega Bacon Cheeseburgers, hot and iced decaf coffee, dark chocolate, color (yarn, fabric), playing around with web technologies - not necessarily in that order! Still very much a beginner with quilting, knitting, and sewing. Donates crocheted lap blankets.

List maker, detail-oriented, organized, leans heavily toward perfectionism. ISTJ. Libra.
