Free patterns and Cats Afghan

| | Comments (12)

While hunting around Google looking for a pattern for the crocheted Cats Afghan I saw on eBay but didn't bid on, I found a page at About.com which listed a Cats Afghan pattern available at FreePatterns.com (http://www.freepatterns.com/). So, I got my free account and, sure enough, there it was! The Cats Afghan pattern!

catsafghan.jpg If you want this pattern, it and lots of other crochet and other crafts patterns are FREE at http://www.freepatterns.com/.

Later, I discovered (via Google) that the PDF file of the Cats Afghan pattern can also be found at:

[July 26, 2006] Heather posted a comment on another entry that she found the Cats Afghan PDF at:

[December 2009] The link above is broken. I have not found another link. Sorry!

[January 2010] Found a new link for the Cats Afghan (PDF):

I am also trying to find the Garden Cat afghan. It is not on Free Patterns either. Where can I find it? Thanks, elizabeth

Hi, Elizabeth - There are many many patterns on eBay. Here's a link to the Garden Cat pattern:

I too was unable to find the Cats Afghan at freepatterns.com. It isn't on eBay right now either. Keep checking eBay. You could try posting a "wanted" listing on eBay to see if someone has the pattern who may want to auction it to you.

Looking for Dawn Kemp's pattern "Baby Things" afghan. Know where I could find it??

Cheryl said:

Hi, Rose - I *love* online treasure hunts!

I was able to find a reference to a "Baby Things Afghan" at:
http://www.plunderhere.com/auction/cgi-bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=275092
which is an already ended auction for Crochet for Baby, Book Two, a booklet by Leisure Arts. There wasn't an indication that the Baby Things Afghan was designed by a Dawn Kemp, however.

A search for "Crochet Baby Things" led me to this website on which there is a larger photo of the booklet cover and I can see that the booklet's number is 906:
http://www.hobbymukke.dk/Oversigter%20udenlandske%20h%C3%A6fter/Leisure%20Art%20Baby%20Clothes%201.htm

On eBay, I found this completed auction for the Crochet for Baby, Book Two booklet:
http://cgi.ebay.com/LA-906-crochet-for-baby-2-sundress-afghans-layettes_W0QQitemZ260147606353QQihZ016QQcategoryZ41229QQcmdZViewItem
There are photos of the booklet pages - check it out to see if it has the afghan you're looking for. If so, you can keep looking on eBay for the booklet and try to win it in an auction.

Good luck!
