Over a year ago, a woman at work donated a lot of yarn in a range of orange colors. I made a shell-patterned blanket in two shades of orange a while back. There is still lots of this yarn left. So, I selected a pattern from one of the new pattern books I have and made 15 squares using yarn in oranges, greens, red and black. The color combination is quite bright! Neon even!
12 of the squares were used for this blanket. The remaining 3 squares were used in 2 additional blankets.

Dear Cheryl,
Your lap blankets are extremely beautiful. As an Activity Coordinator at a not for profit Nursing Home, I have been extremely saddened. Together with the Director, we have been trying to change the world, one good deed at a time. Starting with our Disabled Senior Citizens.
We have been searching for anyone to help us. I personally can say I have gone through 1500 corporations, companies, stores, Quilting guilds, knitting guilds, churches, organizations.. The answer is always the same...NO! Everyone seems to only give to charities for premature babies, HIV-AIDS, or Breast Cancer. These are very important but our Disabled Senior Citizens have been forgotten. They are the salt of the earth. If it were not for them, we would not be here.
Please, is there any way you would be willing to donate even a few of your lap blankets.
Anything would be deeply appreciated.
God Bless you in you decision.
Sincerely
Anna Worth
Hi, Anna - The postage to send blankets to you would be too much for me to absorb which is why I donate my crocheted lap blankets to local nursing homes.
I recommend that you contact a crochet or knitting group in your area about your request - do a search using google.com for:
