Here's an update of what I've been up to over the past few months.
Current in-progress projects:
- Cathedral Rose Window Afghan for auction (start Aug. 6; target finish date: Sep. 11)
- Race Track/Games blanket for Jack (start Jul. 25)
- Blocks in primary colors lap blanket (start Jun. 27)
I finished the squares for the primary colors lap blanket, but it was too hot to put the blanket together so I moved on to starting a Games/Road Play blanket for Jack (same child I made Jack's Baby Blanket for) who is getting a baby brother or sister in late December.
Then, I dropped that project as soon as I got the yarn for the Cathedral Rose Window afghan that I'm making for the auction at the College's annual golf tournament on September 12. The afghan is beautiful and I've had fun working on it, but the summer heat is killing some of the enjoyment! I should be working on individual squares for afghans or smaller-than-an-afghan projects during the summer, not a huge blanket that drapes over my lap as I work on it!
No photos yet but I finished these blankets since my last entry:
- Crochet on the Double and Tunisian Panels Lap Blanket (start Jun. 10; finish Jun. 26)
- OHLONE Filet Lap Blanket or Banner (start Jun. 24; finish Jun. 25)
I got "hooked" on tunisian crochet after trying out the crochet cable hook I had bought a while back (the 14-inch double-ended crochet hooks are too heavy when yarn is on them for my writsts). So, of course, I had to have an assortment of crochet cable hooks...and pattern books...
Also, the OHLONE filet lap blanket was my first attempt at filet crochet - and it turned out really well. Since I'm not sure what to do with it (yet), I've left it at work until someone comes up with a use for it!
