I usually use only 4-ply worsted acrylic yarn because I make a lot of lap blankets to donate. Michaels Craft Store has a sale this week (ends tomorrow) on a variety of types of fancy yarns - some are 50% off the regular price. I resisted temptation Sunday, Monday, ... until today on my way home from work.
I browsed around for about 60 minutes selecting colors (mainly purples and reds) and textures (soft, fuzzy, furry, smooth, cuddly, tickly) and brought walked out with $100 in a variety of yarn brands and types, including 6 balls of a great red-with-bits-of-black soft yarn for a sweater or something for me. I plan to use the other yarns to experiment with Freeform Crochet. Cool!
