I closed my freelance web design business at the end of 2003. My main email address (which I don't use for this website) has been at my freelance business domain name since...well, a long time (1998?). That domain name is up for renewal near the end of this year. So, I've finally decided to bite the bullet and change my main email address to the domain using my name.
What a pain in the butt! In addition to contacting friends and family about the new email address, I have to change my email address for all websites I've registered at - and want to stay registered at - to use my new email address. This includes listservs, forums/message boards, Amazon, PayPal, Barnes and Noble, GoDaddy, banking websites, and about 30-50 more websites. Yikes.
Because there are so many websites I've registered at using my now-old email address, I may have to renew the domain for one more year so I can keep forwarding email from the now-old email addres to my now-new email address until I can be sure I've updated my subscriptions/profile information at all the necessary websites.
Oh boy! Fun-fun-fun!
