No one wants to see that message displayed for each of their websites. And for their web hosting company's website. And the hosting company owner's blog. And for many of the other websites known to be hosted by that company.
Yet that was the message I saw yesterday afternoon for each of my websites, my hosting company's website, the owner's blog, and other websites I know are hosted by that company.
Websites down. Email down. Helpdesk down. Support forum down.
Is it a server problem? a DNS problem?
Who to turn to?
Well, since I know the hosting company is a reseller of a larger web hosting company, I visited their support forum on which there were no references to server or DNS problems. Hmmm.
Did something go wrong with billing? Was the reseller's account closed for some reason?
Did the reseller close their account without notifying clients? The owner doesn't present herself as a flake on her blog, and she has been reliable for the 3 years or so I've been hosting with her.
Then, a few hours later, the websites and email were back. I still have no idea what happened.

Sometimes they (spies?)are trying to get your personal info. I've had that happen. I didn't give my info though. I contacted the owner's of the company and they said there wasn't a problem.
