Keeping stray cats away from our screen door

Jasmine and Cleo enjoy keeping watch at the screen of the sliding glass door in our bedroom. There is much for them to look at in the backyard: birds (including the occasional hummingbird), bees, flies, wasps, plants, flowers... Stray cats in the neighborhood try to attack our babies through the screen door which results in loud hisses and screeching cries from both sides of the door. To make the stray cats stay away and give our cats and ourselves peace, I suggested we place a piece of plywood with nails driven through it on the step of the deck outside the screen door - our Anti-Cat Board with Nails. The strays will hopefully learn to stay away after stepping on the nails once or twice.
