Huggy Buggy, stuffed crocheted Volkswagen Bug car

Size: [didn't get the measurements!]
Colors: Hot pink, White, Black, Multi
Pattern: Huggy Buggy
Book: Annie's Pattern Club Newsletter, Number 18, Dec-Jan 1983
Hook: ?
Date: start Sep. 11, 2005; put aside mid Sep. 2005; picked up again Jun. 9, 2006; finish Jun. 10

When I saw this pattern last year, I thought about Gosia and her Buglet (the VW Bug she owns and loves). So I got the pattern booklet off eBay and began making this stuffed Volkswagen Bug for her. When the body looked more square than round, I put it aside until I felt like tackling it again. 9 months later, I picked it up and the next day it was finished! With stuffing, it doesn't look square!

It's OK to laugh when noticing the tires are way too small! They're just a bit larger than the headlights!

Hi, I love your little car. I've been looking for something like this to make for a baby boys room and was unable to find anything like this. I was wondering if you could send me the pattern for you little car.

thanks, Heather

Hi, Heather - I recommend searching eBay for the newsletter I found the pattern in:

Annie's Pattern Club Newsletter, Number 18, Dec-Jan 1983. The pattern is called Huggy Buggy.

I cannot copy the pattern for distribution since it is against copyright laws.

You may have to search eBay for a while, but you'll probably find the pattern book.

Is it possible to get a copy of the instructions for this car? I am with a group in Tucson who make toys for kids during the holidays and this would be a good one to make to give to little boys.

Hi, Sandi - I no longer have this pattern in my collection. You may be able to get the booklet on eBay, which is where I found a lot of my patterns and books:
Annie's Pattern Club Newsletter, Number 18, Dec-Jan 1983

In fact, it is listed on eBay in these 3 auctions:
Item # 190172226470
Item # 250184239208
Item # 180176102168

Good luck!
