I had 5 squares leftover from the previous granny square lap blanket - 1 pink, 1 yellow, 1 blue, and 2 green. So, I crocheted an additional square using purple and grey, made a white and sage border around each, joined them, and put a border around the whole thing. Didn't take very long!

just wondering why the granny blankets made in one piece look so lopsided,,,,, even in the pics here they look crooked,,, tried 2 nad threw them out
Hi, Karen - I'm not sure what you're referring to. The photos on the blog entry where you left your message *look* crooked, but that's because I didn't layout the blanket perfectly before taking the photos.
As long as the granny squares are 'square' and the manner of joining creates a straight line (some of my recent experiments with joins haven't been!), the resulting one-piece blanket should also be 'square'.
