Woolly Thoughts caught my attention with its mathematical designs for afghans, board games, mazes, pillows, scarves and more - many of these ideas can also be used by both crocheters and knitters!

I've mentioned the Random Stripe Generator, but the Stripe Generator is a stripe generating tool I like even more! It's an online tool for web designers to create striped background images for websites but can also be used by crocheters, knitters, and other crafters to make striped patterns.
You can create diagonal, vertical, or horizontal stripes. Add stripe colors. Select stripe thickness and spacing between stripes (the background color appears as a the spacing stripe).
Try it! Random Stripe Generator.

This is cool!
Random Stripe Generator - "generate random stripe patterns for knitting sweaters, scarves, blankets, etc."
If I had time and energy and desire, I would write a program to generate Fibonacci sequence or Lucas number stripes with an option to repeat from X to Y and/or go up and down from A to B.
Fibonacci sequence examples:
- X=1 (note that 1 is minimum number of rows)
- Y=6 (# steps up from X) [which is 13 in this case]
- repeat (uses X and Y)
1 1 2 3 5 8 13 1 1 2 3 5 8 13 ...
- Z=5 (# steps down from Y) [which is 1 in this case]
- up/down (uses X, Y, and Z)
1 1 2 3 5 8 13 8 5 3 2 1 2 3 5 8 13 ...(photo 1)1 1 2 3 5 8 13 13 8 5 3 2 1 1 2 3 5 8 13 ...(photo 2)
- Z=6 (# steps down from Y) [which is also 1 in this case]
- up/down (uses X, Y, and Z)

- X=3
- Y=4 (# steps up from X)
- repeat (uses X and Y)
3 5 8 13 21 3 5 8 13 21 ...
- Z=5 (# steps down from X)
- up/down (uses X, Y, and Z)
