Woolly Thoughts caught my attention with its mathematical designs for afghans, board games, mazes, pillows, scarves and more - many of these ideas can also be used by both crocheters and knitters!
- Curve of Pursuit (pictured with this blog post)
- About Turn
- Penrose
- Counting Pane
- Tower Blocks
- more
Also checkout the Online Afghan Designer! Create your own designs using squares and half-squares!
I've mentioned the Random Stripe Generator, but the Stripe Generator is a stripe generating tool I like even more! It's an online tool for web designers to create striped background images for websites but can also be used by crocheters, knitters, and other crafters to make striped patterns.
You can create diagonal, vertical, or horizontal stripes. Add stripe colors. Select stripe thickness and spacing between stripes (the background color appears as a the spacing stripe).
Try it! Random Stripe Generator.

I have a bunch of crochet pattern leaflets and books with afghans of granny squares that mimic quilt designs. On Crochetville this morning, I saw a Crochet-a-Quilt crochet along topic with many links to quilt-block patterns that can be used for crochet.
Quilt Blocks Galore especially caught my eye as a source of patterns for crocheting...and quilting! (This feeds right into my desire for color and texture!)
[a few minutes later...]
Oh, boy: Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt (at Quilted Inspirations) - complete with template and instructions. I already know how to crochet a Grandmother's Flower Garden Afghan... I may just have to dive into quilting (for real).
[another few minutes later...]
The Web is a lovely place... Fat Quarter Shop.
Must stop browsing now...

She touched a sewing machine for the first time 2 years ago! Very nice quilting projects at All Too Quilty (http://www.uncorked.org/alltooquilty/). Also information and good links. (I cannot find her name though!)
Hmmm, and wouldn't you know, I found a link to Electric Quilt software at All Too Quilty. Just the thing to go with my Pattern Maker for cross-stitch software!! That is, of course, if I ever start my first quilting project...and if I like it and think I'll do more (software for serious quilt designers at $110.00)!
