Oxford Style Socks - Blue, Grey

Colors: Denim Hot (blue), Steel Hot (grey) (Bernat Sox)
Pattern: Oxford Style by Janet Rehfeldt
Book: Crocheted Socks! 16 Fun-to-Stitch Patterns - ISBN 1-56477-494-5 - Designs by Janet Rehfeldt and Mary Jane Wood - Copyright 2003 - Martingale & Company
Hook: D
Date: March 2006

Guess what I finished making last night and wore today! Yup, these traditional-style socks.

Colors: Grass Green, Mellow Yellow, Pink Power (Patons Kroy Socks)
Pattern: Rippled Effect
Book: Learn to Crochet Socks - Leaflet 1308 - Designs by Kathy Wesley - Copyright 2000 - American School of Needlework
Hook: D
Date: March 2006

I love these socks! The colors and ripples are so fun! The original pattern has the same color order for the ripples and uses the same color for the heal and toe on each sock. I decided to mix it up!

Classic Cabled Rib Socks - Grey

Colors: Steel Hot (grey) (Bernat Sox)
Pattern: Classic Cabled Rib by Janet Rehfeldt and Mary Jane Wood
Book: Crocheted Socks! 16 Fun-to-Stitch Patterns - ISBN 1-56477-494-5 - Designs by Janet Rehfeldt and Mary Jane Wood - Copyright 2003 - Martingale & Company
Hook: D
Date: November 2005

A first pair of socks from the Crocheted Socks! 16 Fun-to-Stitch Patterns book! Even using one hook size smaller than the pattern specified (E), with my loose gauge they are a little big but make good socks for inside the house when I'm not wearing shoes. I was wearing these socks a while before this photo was taken, so they're loose and a bit dirty.

Ankle Socks - Warm Colors

Colors: Paint Box (Patons Kroy Socks)
Pattern: In Your Shoes Ankle Socks by Pam, published in Crochet me
Hook: D for cuff, E
Date: November 2005

This is a great pattern! The socks fit well and are easy to make.

Joan's Socks - Browns

Colors: Autumn (Lion Brand Wool-Ease)
Pattern: Joan's Socks, published by Lion Brand
Hook: E, F
Date: October 2005

My second pair of crocheted socks! I started the first sock intending to wear the socks myself - but the sock was too big for me! So, I gave them to Bill to keep his feet warm in his slippers.

The pattern for the woman's size calls for G and H hooks (H and I for the men's size), but since my gauge is so loose, I went with E and F hooks. I must have a really loose gauge or other people have a really tight one.

Ankle Socks - Cool Colors

Colors: Jazz Hot (Bernat Sox)
Pattern: In Your Shoes Ankle Socks by Pam, published in Crochet me (I added a band on the cuff to make it longer)
Hook: E
Date: October 2005

My first pair of crocheted socks! I wore them to work last week - the day after I finished the second sock of course! The texture can definitely be felt on my feet (i.e., the sock yarn is not as plush as the white ankle socks I usually wear), but it's not uncomfortable.

The pattern calls for a G hook, but since my gauge is so loose, I went with an E hook. They fit just fine!
